This is just a little poem I wrote several years ago, which I thought I might share with you here. It’s called ‘Opals.’ It was published in a poetry collection of mine called Feathers, Dreams and Faerie Wings, which is currently out of print.
Opals
Gifts of the world: stone, fire and air.
Their play of colours rainbow-fair.
Silver bands with opal jewels,
adorn her fingers, throat and hair.
The earth offers up these rare gifts,
stones of wealth and magic rich.
The lady loves their fine allure,
once mined from secret rifts.
Perfectly set is each new stone,
reflected beauty of renown.
She eagerly wears her opal jewels,
glimmering colours match her gown.
Thanks for reading. :) I hope you enjoyed my little poem. You can read some of my other Nature and Life Poetry here:
